Heroic Men, a nonprofit ministry focused on Catholic men’s formation, has officially launched its highly anticipated video series, Be a Man!, featuring bestselling author and speaker Fr. Larry Richards.
Since its debut in May 2025, the 10-episode series has become the most-viewed content across the platform, with thousands of men tuning in monthly—many as part of new or existing parish-based groups.
Based on Fr. Richards’ widely read book of the same name, Be a Man! offers a direct and spiritually grounded call for men to reclaim their identity and mission in Christ. The series is available for free to men worldwide via the Heroic Men app.
“We’ve seen extraordinary engagement,” said Gabe Chabot, a Heroic Men team member. “It is our top series in terms of views, and becoming first choice among app users in men’s groups forming in parishes and homes across North America.”
The video series release comes amid growing concern over male isolation and spiritual disengagement. According to data from The New Emangelization, one in three men report having no personal friendships in their parish. Heroic Men aims to address this crisis by building networks of faith-based brotherhood—both online and in-person.
“We’ve never been lonelier,” said Dean Patterson, a volunteer prison minister and Heroic Men group leader. “Fr. Larry’s message is timely and urgent. In prison and in parish life, men are stronger when they’re walking together.”
The platform’s mission is to foster male discipleship and community, especially in the wake of increased isolation following the pandemic.
“We need to help men start groups in their parishes, invite others, and begin restoring connection and faith,” said Sean Lynn, a retired police officer and Heroic Men leader in Canada. “It’s about no man left behind.”
Fr. Richards, known for his direct preaching style, underscores the spiritual urgency behind the project: “There are no lone wolves in Christianity. Christ sent his men out two by two. Men need men. We’ve got to do the same.”
The Be a Man! series is now available exclusively on the Heroic Men app. Viewers are encouraged to watch the trailer, join a group, and share the series with friends and parish leaders.
